Fantastic! I have the UK Anchor Bay release which was great. Interesting that they are going with the 1.66 ratio as all the DVD's were 1.78 or 1.85. I saw this in the cinema but can't remember the aspect ratio it was screened in. IMDb says OAR is 1.66 to 1 though.

ANYBODY interested in a truly GREAT film--
this is it x 1000
absolutely one of my favorite movies in the history of world cinema.
the first time I saw this was in an actual theater, and I was just completely mesmerized, blown away, astounded, etc. etc.
It's that good.
whatever you do, do NOT MISS getting this bd.
(fair warning--this is a true "art film" and is slow moving, subtitled, and contains some black and white scenes)
also: neither Batman nor Optimus Prime, or any terminators appear in this film.
that said--do not be scared off.

Sorry, that only happens in the 5-hour Director's Cut.

Is Megan Fox in it?

Did Linkin Park do the soundtrack for this?

If not, I'll pass.

Excellent news; without doubt one of my favourite arthouse movies. And for those dithering about buying a film about guardian angels watching over us, no, it isn't boring, it isn't a 'religious' film in the sense of being pious or do-gooder and it isn't hard to follow. Somehow it just works. Even if you're generally bored by arthouse movies, this one really is different. FWIW, I hate a lot of arthouse fare - I found the kid in 400 Blows insufferable, I want to put most of Ingmar Bergman's characters on Prozac and tell them to get on with life, and I've found myself shouting at the screen during Italian films like L'Aventura and Dolce Vita 'go and get proper jobs, you parasites'.

Incidentally, if any of you go to Berlin and try to find the buildings where most of the film was shot - forget it, they've been knocked down. Except for one bit of an old hotel used for some of the scenes. This was moved (i.e. the building itself) and now resides in the Sony Center shopping centre behind a glass casing.
