Default 'Burn Notice: Season Two' - High-Def Digest Review

Aaron has reviewed 'Burn Notice: Season Two.' He's a big fan, so this troubled Blu-ray release hit him hard. He says this set has very poor video, slightly better audio, and a few fairly good supplements. This one is a big disappointment.

Yeah, it's a goddamned shame. I've been waiting for this for MONTHS, and I was preparing for grain because it's shot on 16MM but...ugh. My god. First of all, spot on about the cramming of episodes. Six 45ish minute long episodes on one disc. Gee, that doesn't sound like it'll cause any issues. Second, they clearly didn't put any work into this. They seemingly just tossed on the episodes and shipped them out.

All I wanted was Burn Notice in HD without compression artifacts covering my screen when they do a quick cut. Guess that was too much to ask for.

That sucks, compare that with at most 3 episodes per disc for True Blood!

I find Gabrielle Anwar's plastic face disturbing enough in Standard Def. I don't know if I could take it in HD.

Another shame...she was once very striking.

due to the excessive grit, you can't tell if she looks "plastic," really. you can see how massively RIPPED she is (holy bejeezus!), though.

I think she looks pretty darn good on USA HD.

Agree on the fact that this show is awesome. I guess I'll just save some $ and get the dvds.

She was once a very beautiful girl. But she's had way too much work done in the years since. She looks too much like Janice Dickenson now, more plastic than flesh. I find myself having a physical revulsion to her face, which works against the show casting her as the "hot chick".

Wasn't she in "Things to do in Denver when you're dead?"

Way back when. Damn, that's a great film.

The grain is definetely present on USA HD when broadcast. So I dont think this has anything to do with the Blu Ray. Thats just the way the show looks. I have no idea why they do this, because its not pretty.
