Default 'Generation Kill' - High-Def Digest Review

Tom Landy has reviewed 'Generation Kill.' He says this is another great series from HBO. This Blu-ray has strong video, reference quality audio, and excellent supplements. Highly recommended.

I was very hyped when this came out because it was from the same people that did "The Wire". Unfortunately I only mildly enjoyed it...it had some powerful scenes but ultimately kinda just dragged along.

I have never seen an episode. Is this more like Band of Brothers or is it more like Jarhead?

Was this done miniseries before or after True Blood season 1? I only ask because I notice it stars Eric the Viking as 'Iceman' - and not of the "I don't like you because you're dangerous" variety .

Is there a reason why this review has been reposted?

i need to get this as soon as possible, as i want to watch it badly, along with Band of Brothers and The Pacific.

nice to see a great review about it, although i heard somewhere the series was ...rather harsh.

Just got my copy today Friday june 3. I Hope it's good as I bought it blind. Most reviews seem to favour it though.

For amazon, this blu-ray is Region 1 only but HD Movie Source says "Plays in REGION A.B.C Players". Who is right ?

Thanks for the review.

It's region free.

Some advice:

1) Never trust Amazon for region codes on blu-ray. Tip one that they don't know anything: blu-ray uses A, B, C to define regions. DVD uses 1, 2, 3.... if an Amazon listing has a "1" and it's a blu-ray they're wrong. And they usually are.

2) If you ever have a region coding issue or question, check here.

Amazon just copy it from the DVD page of the same item. Warner doesn't region code discs.

Anyways, I'm still waiting for my order to show up which has GK and a few others with it!
