Default 'Pride and Glory' - High-Def Digest

Aaron Peck has reviewed 'Pride and Glory.' He says the movie is flat and predictable, which might have been a result of its seemingly cursed production. This Blu-ray's video and audio are both pretty mediocre. The best thing about this one seems to be the one hour behind the scenes documentary that shows the problems encountered, as well as how demanding Edward Norton was during the making of this "pet project." (Editor's Note - I have to point something out. When was the last time Edward Norton was involved in a movie that wasn't a.) Riddled with problems, and b.) Seen as one of his pet projects? It's starting to remind me of Kevin Costner and the way his control freak tendencies can sabotage so many of his projects. Keep thinking of that saying about troublesome relationships: The only constant in all of them is *you.* Annnnnnnnyway...) You can skip this one, but don't skip the review!

I have to agree with the review. I had rented this when it first came out and was left unmoved.

I saw this in theatres and thought it was alright. I found it for $11 at a used video store and decided to pick it up.

I wish the reviewer would have been a little bit more specific in the audio portion of the review when he mentions how bad the directionality is, such as pointing out certain scenes.

Sorry about that ruckus. To answer your question, most scenes are pretty bad. Especially when there is someone off-screen talking. It just seems all muddled together. Hope that helps.

I really liked it, and I defiantely think it's worth seeing and owning for the right price (I'm waiting for a Columbia House BOGO with free shipping, not paying full price for a movie that I've already seen).

I hated most of the movie but thought the last 30 minutes were pretty fantastic.

Considering the talent involved it was a very run-of-the-mill cop drama for the most part.

i remember when i first saw the trailer i thought wow that looks a lot like we own the night, which was funny to me because we own the night was an unoriginal, run of the mill, brooklyn cop drama. turns out pride and glory was double that, with NOTHING original at all except maybe that the only word in NYPD's vocabulary is fuck...for a while though i did think the first two acts were entertaining and gritty, but the 3rd act completely collapsed into garbage with the idiotic bar fight. while i was watching it i thought how could they (director, produces, screenwriters) fuck up the ending so badly??? when the film finished i felt the same as the review, the movie couldve been the next year's we own the night which wouldve been ok to say and nothing to be completely ashamed of but overall this was a not a good movie at all. acting was nothing special and cliched, and colin farrell yet again overacted, it seems like the more of his movies i watch the more i dislike him. ed norton is the most overrated actor in hollywood today, he wasnt anything great in this and isnt in anything else.

wow where was I when this came out? I don't remember it at all...
I am usually a pretty big fan of Ed Norton movies so I might have to give this a rent just to see for myself.
