Default 'Trading Places' - High-Def Digest Review

Just posted Peter's review of 'Trading Places' on Blu-ray, and he says fans should appreciate this long-awaited special edition in its high-def debut from Paramount. While there's just so much you can do with a now twenty five year-old film, Peter says the transfer is better than expected, and even if the audio is lacking, there's a handful of new supplements to pick up the slack.

I'm disappointed that the review doesn't make any direct comparisons between formats. This info is important to dual format owners in their decision of which format to get. I've read some disparaging things about the Coming to America on BD. I'm awaiting the High-def Digest review, b/c they are the HD reviews I trust. I hope a comparison is made. If you no longer fell they have a place in the main review, maybe a head-head feature should be included for dual format releases.

Think I will pass on this one. Saw the movie more than my fair share back in my youth and while I thought it was good, I dont have a desire to have it. I either buy or dont buy. I NEVER RENT.

Default downgraded soundtrack

I think it's clear by now that we all know that Blu-Ray is the winning format. Why does Paramount continue to give us substandard soundtracks? When it comes time to release Paramount films like "Raiders of the Lost Ark" I think high-end audio/videophiles will be extremely disappointed if uncompressed PCM soundtracks are not released.

I'll be glad to have both Trading Places and Coming to America. I've been waiting for Coming to America for the longest; their DVD release(s?) was not enhanced for HD sets. Therefore, I didn't purchase one. I do have Trading Places on DVD, which, of course, will be replaced.
