DVD Beaver review -- doesn't seem to be the unmitigated disaster that was Gladiator (ooh, controversial), but not up to Braveheart either. Admittedly DVD Beaver didn't really pick up on the problems with the Gladiator transfer so this review should be taken with a pinch of salt, but I'm seeing it as a good sign.

I will definitely be picking up Gump. Pretty sure we will see this for $18-19 (if not cheaper) pretty soon at either Walmart, Best Buy, or Amazon.

BTW, some more screen grabs here in this post at AVS:

Screen captures are not always the best way to judge a movie, but this certainly looks better than Gladiator (ie no heavy DNR)....

Looks pretty damn good to me. I love this movie. Perfect blend of comedy and drama.

Do you think this is The Green Mile thread?

I'll be getting this day one since I dont have the DVD. Nice to know that the PQ and AQ are up to snuff.

Anybody else got a hold of this yet? It would be nice to have a couple different opinions.

I got the box of chocolates set today, decent packaging but nothing amazing. I would have loved it more if the film came in an actual Blu-ray case inside, but what can ya do. I was planning on buying the regular release, but not so motivated now that I have the discs. Anyone know of any custom cover art?

If I was good at making custom cover art...I'd make a "Magic Legs Edition".

picked this up this morning, one of my fav movies, can't wait to check it out. FYI pretty sure there is no digibook version of this, none that I have heard of.

Yeah, my bad. I was thinking Green Mile when I typed Forrest Gump. Not enough sleep will do that to you.
