I really like this show when I watched it back when I was very young. Also I'm waiting to see the mini series coming out this summer on AMC. I read that Chris Nolan is trying to make a big screen version of it, can't wait.

I'll give this a rent cause I don't remember much about the show.

This was announced in the UK, then withdrawn....Very encouraging. I would suggest lobbying A & E for NERO WOLFE in blu-ray -- the standard-def is full screen, and the shows were shot widescreen...and each episode is longer by at least a few minutes (and sometimes much more), as broadcast elsewhere in the world.

I doubt A&e will do nero wolfe on HD, I don't think the production values will complement it. It was done on a shoestring budget and most of the outdoor screens, some of the buildings used on location, a few of the costumes, and the cars used start to show their age badly with the DVD and a big screen. But the sets they built to be used over the series look great.

A&E got in trouble with the first set on dvd when they sold the edited for more commercial version instead of how it originally aired, they later fixed it. I would be happy for a UK dvd release or US release with the extra minutes and widescreen.

I don't known if they think they is enough demand for the extended dvd set or remastering it for blu. Hell I wish they'd get Timothy Hutton and Maury Chaykin back and make some more!

just found out their an austrailian version of Wolfe on DVD. released by FremantleMedia Enterprises

Series two was filmed in HD. I think the whole series was filmed in 35mm although the page I saw confused some of the points

**EDIT**

Never mind it looks like it may have never been release in AU. I can't find it avaliable on line anywhere.

Wow this was a great series, I remember being lost first couple episodes but then really got into the story and have been keeping an eye out for such a release. Got to love the "bouncing bubble".

This is nice to know. Now if A&E will release UFO and Space:1999 on Blu-Ray, I will be a truly happy camper.

"Been tempted to buy the DVD set for years... sure glad I resisted. I'll buy this one for sure. All on 5 disks. Nice."

Same here - always heard great things about this show, but wondering if I'll be able to really get into it because of it's 'age'.

Think I'll rent the first disc of the SD version from Netflix just to get a taste of it...

I'll be lining up for this one, too. I intended to buy the DVD box set, and sold my 1990s laserdisc set of the Prisoner in preparation for it. Then, I just didn't get around to it. I would never have guessed that The Prisoner would appear on blu-ray. I hope it lives up to the high definition name.

I agree with the previous poster about Space: 1999. I have the mega-set released a few years ago. The sound and picture quality are poor, and bonus features are minimal to zero. Not even any subtitles. Any restoration of Space: 1999 would be welcome, even if only on SD DVD.
