Default 'Major League' - High-Def Digest Review

David has reviewed 'Major League.' He says this hall-of-fame comedy never gets old. Unfortunately, this Blu-ray has middling video and audio transfers, but the supplements and the movie itself still earn it a recommendation. Enjoy this one over this summery weekend!

Looks like I'll be passing on it.

It looked pretty good on my system. Best baseball movie ever because its realistic instead of over the top melodramatic and serious. Real MLB teams are a lot more like the teams in this film than those teams in other "serious" films.

Graet flick!!!!

Great baseball movie, no doubt. I'll stick with Bull Durham to get my infrequent baseball fix though.

Easily my favorite sports movie ever but doesn't sound like it warrants the high def upgrade. FYI, its batting 1.000 not .1000

So true, carsten!! Pretty obvious my forte in high school was English, not math!! With my tail between my legs, I will go correct that.

Classic comedy. It's a shame the PQ and AQ scores aren't impressive. Still I'm sure this will find it's way into my library one day.

I'll stick pick this up... albeit when this title reaches the $11.99 price. Until then, my DVD will have to make due.

I have the first and second on DVD which will serve me well. I am one of the few that thinks the second is funnier.

Highly disagree. The PQ won't be beating A Bug's Life for any awards, but it was surprisingly good. 2.5 stars is a joke score.

Disappointing pq review but like some have said, probably end up in my collection as well. With as much as David like it you woulda thought it'd get 4 1/2 or 5 stars. I think it would have been well deserved, too.

If I did the rating solely on my personal love of the film, I would have given it 5 stars easy (and believe me, I was tempted), but when I took into account the direction and production values, and stood it up against other films, I thought 4 stars was a fair score. It's a GREAT, totally entertaining film that I always love to revisit, but it's not a masterpiece of modern cinema. (Not that every 5-star film has to be a masterpiece, but I think you get where I'm coming from...)
