Meh, they could have picked a better AK movie than Kagemusha, or at least one I didn't already own on DVD!

I would rather see them release Karakiri (yes, I know it's not AK, but it's the best Japanese classic I've seen in their collection so far, and I would be more willing to double dip that movie).

Well I'm ready for any Kurosawa film on Blu-Ray, so I'm looking forward to this. Still upset about Ran though....

Playtime is a first day buy for me.. now, if Criterion would release M. Hulot's Holiday, I'd be really happy!

yeah i've always loved the kagemusha criterion artwork, although i think i've only watched my dvd once or twice it's one of the movies that i haven't gotten rid of because it looks cool

I hope Playtime is mastered from a good 70mm interpositive or camera negative source. It's a day one buy. Triple dip for me, I think. Worth it.

That is an awesome looking film -- in addition to being hilariously entertaining. It's the kind of movie I throw on to see a few minutes of it, but then end up watching the whole thing.
