Default 'Elton John: The Red Piano' -- pre-release thread

A little last-minute, but we just got word from Universal Music for this one:

http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/eltonjohn_redpiano.html

Not even any specs on the Blu yet, even though it is hitting stores tomorrow.

MSRP is $24.98.

I've seen the Best Buy Blu-ray. Assuming there's no difference between that and this edition, I wouldn't say the Blu-ray is anything impressive. Think the cameramen all had the gain cranked up on their cameras.

I have had this for like a month now, the audio is awesome, decent set, but the video quality is a tad too grainy for my liking.

I wasn't aware of this being released prior to now; perhaps you guys are thinking of the show from MSG?

My wife and I went to opening night for this show, it was awesome, the show was great and it being opening night we got to walk down the red carpet!

It was a Best Buy exclusive before this.

Default Best Buy

I believe the Police Certifiable blu-ray is/was also a Best Buy exclusive.

Best Buy also had about a month's exclusive on The Man With The Golden Gun and Licence To Kill as part of a Bond blu-ray 3-pack, but this will end next week when those 2 are released individually everywhere else.

One last one I can think of - the series of Discovery blu-rays (that include Mars The Quest For Life) was exclusive for a couple of months at one point but now you can get them on Amazon.

It kind of bums me out that the Elton Red Piano blu-ray doesn't look that great (according to the comments here). I got it from Best Buy months ago but I never got around to watching it. It always sucks when hi-def is underwhelming...
