I've wanted to get The Last Metro for a while but haven't.

Recently I got Eyes Wide Shut to round off my Kubrick collection on blu. I have never seen that unrated version either.

I finally got the Godfather trilogy to replace my dvd copies.

Picked up the Die Hard collection used for only $32 today to also replace my dvd copies. Well, I didn't own Live Free.

    Got Benjamin Button as well.

I retired last week and was fortunate to receive several hundred dollars worth of gift cards from my co-workers. And my co-workers know me well because they gave me gift cards to iTunes Store, Cheesecake Factory and.... da dum... Best Buy!

Now, I typically don't buy Blu-rays for more than $15-16. I made the exception last week when I picked up Da Vinci Code for $16.99 after coupon. But the combination of May 5 (tons of great releases) and lots of gift cards in my pocket sent me down to Best Buy this afternoon. When I was all done, these are the Blu-ray titles I added to my collection:

    Big
    There's Something About Mary
    Grease
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
    Roxanne
    Milk
    Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Thankfully, I researched the pricing on the titles on Best Buy's website BEFORE going to the store. I saved myself $19.50 that way because 3 of the titles were substantially less expensive on their website

There's Something About Mary - $29.99 in store, $23.99 on the website
Big - $29.99 in store, $23.99 on the website
Milk - $29.99 in store, $22.49 on the website

I also got a price match on Benjamin Button... $24.99 (saving $1). Thank you Frys!

We watched Roxanne tonight and I am SO happy to finally have a version that preserves the original aspect ratio (or very very close to it). The standard def DVD release has the aspect wrong and, due to that, there are a couple of scenes where you miss (what I feel) is important stuff.

Up next (tomorrow), Benjamin Button. It was a blind buy for me.

Enjoy your retirement..and those Blus. I hope when I retire my fellow co-workers are as generous as yours was. I have a feeling that when I retire the only thing that my fellow co-workers will give me is a cake and gas, lol.
