The Chronicles of Riddick PS3 Playback Issue
I had just bought this movie and around the 15 minutes mark with the Uncut version it freezes and skips ahead 5-10 minutes all the time. There's no preventing it. I have a 40GB system with the most recent update. Is anyone else having problems with this disc on their systems? Should I upgrade to the 160GB or just get a really good stand-alone player to try to fix this problem, because there's no way for me to watch this film on my system without the freezing. Pitch Black was no problem, how irritating.
Thanks for any input.Just when thought you were happy with your movie collection

There are rummors of some bad disks floating around. You should exchange it.

Yeah, I got this bad disc. I got it from Amazon. I'm gonna hit them up for an exchange.

I did not have a single issue with mine on my PS3. However, why can you not exchange it? If you paid using a credit card, you do not need a receipt. If not, go to a local Best Buy, and tell them you bought it from them, paid in cash, and need to do a no receipt exchange, and since it is under $50, there should not be an issue, especially since you just want the same item.

Most places will at least grudgingly let you exchange it with out a receipt even if you paid cash. I would imagine this is doubly true in a bad economic times with everyone fighting for a shrinking customer pool. Give it a shot, worst thing they can do is say no right?

normally stores wouldn't require a receipt for an exchange for the same title.

I just found that I have a bad copy. Sucks. At exactly 14:00 it studders and jumps a few times to 19:30. I got the 2 pack from Amazon but would really prefer not to have to ship it back to them. I wonder if they make you. Or mayber I could just be shady and try and get it replaced at Target or Best Buy. Is there anyway to know what stores have the unaffected copies ?

I just watched my copy last night & I had NO issues with playback on my PS3. I bought my copy of Riddick and Pitch Black from Wallmart with a gift card i had and both Blus work with No issues

Typically Amazon does require you ship it back. The few times that I had to exchange an item, they'll send out a replacement via next day air (I'm a Prime member so not sure if they do this for everyone) and then ask that you return the original copy. They'll set you up with label so you don't need to pay for postage. The replacement is originally billed at zero, but if they don't get back first copy you got within 30 days, they'll charge you and shipping for the replacement.

Not for this they don't. I was going to do that, then when I was entering my information into the fields a disclaimer popped up saying that an exchange program was not available at this time.
It said I would have to return the 2 pack, wait until my account was credited, then re-order the same 2 pack again.
I'm not going to do that. I'm going hit up the BB and get a single disc exchange. -

ok I traded this in at Wally World and apon preliminary inpection I think that I got a good one now. I will check a couple of more times but I think that I am good. Slightly shady but as WM will just return it to Universal the same as Amazon to get a full refund noone is out anything.

Maybe I'm constantly lucky, however I've always called in and just asked for a replacement. Their phone CSRs are generally very welcoming and accommodating for my requests. Maybe being a Prime member does have additional perks

I was debating if I should buy the BD version since my distributor can get it for me, but I passed on it. Maybe another time.Sony Bravia KDL-52XBR4 | Samsung LN52A750

I agree that a CSR would probably be of more help than the form however my way works best.

, but when I can I'll most definitely have to buy it again
. The distributor's really should make sure before the product goes out whether or not any discs are defective.
