Thumbs up 'Phantom of the Opera' -- High-Def Digest review

Thought I'd catch up a bit, and checked out 'Phantom of the Opera':

On par with the HD DVD, though again, no Dolby TrueHD and I still find Blu-ray's menus and basic features lacking compared to HD DVD. This one looks great, though...

This is one I will definitely pick up but probably on HD-DVD given the, surprise-surprise, non inclusion of TrueHD for the BD. The wife and I both love the theatre adaptation of Phantom of the Opera and we really enjoyed the movie too. I do wonder how the sound will compare to the R3 DVD I have which has DTS-ES 96/24.

Why are companies putting better menus and more sound options on the HD-DVD versions of a movie, but not the Blu-Ray?

I hate when they do that...
