I'll probably get both of these... but the artwork is a bit scary... i like it... but the shape of it appears to be another monster box that doesn't fit on anyones shelf...

Yes, I HATE those monster boxes. Where the hell are we supposed to store those?

Looks like I'll have to buy some more blu-ray cases and get custom artwork again....*sigh*

But most disappointing is the price, $59.95 and thats Amazon's discount price. Did they not figure out the sales of Casablanca are slow because of a $45+ price?

Wow, I might pick these up, but not at $60! That's insane, I'll hold off until the studios come to their senses.

didn't even look at the price... but yeah, that'll need to come down a few... i mean it sounds like a can buy 6 copies on dvd or one on blu-ray... same movie... obviously i wouldn't be here if i didn't realize that the blu-ray is the way to go... but paying a premium still needs to be within reason.

I really think these will be spectacular discs, and those of us, like myself, who are huge classic movie fans won't care all that much about the price. (I know there aren't a ton of us out there, but I think there may be more than the average guy thinks.)

That said, I'm positive WHV fully intends to release disc-only versions further down the line at a much reduced price. But these mammoth special editions with the collectibles raise these titles above the other standard releases on the shelves, and really put a spotlight on them, which I think is good for educating the public that ALL kinds of films -- not just recent releases or action blockbusters -- are coming to Blu-ray. And it advertises the classics in general in a big way, so hopefully more standard classic releases will come down the pike.

Default Wizard of Oz

'Wizard' would be a fantastic release for Blu-Ray.
Some Blu-Rays I own come with the ability to make your own commentary track and publish it online for others to download and listen to while they watch the movie..
Any chance someone out there will make a 'Dark Side of the Moon' track to play along side 'Oz'? It's my preferred way to watch the movie, I hope someone will do it!

while they may spotlight them, they do aggravate those not looking for a bulky package that won't fit in their shelving units, or those not looking for a grip of extras that aren't on disc (booklets, etc). i think these sets are great, really, but it would be a nice thing if people had the choice of getting a disc only version, in a standard blu case.

that is the main reason casablanca from france is a desired title, so you can not have some behemoth box. i won't trash the sets, as they truly are neat, and full of cool stuff, it just isn't for everyone, and it sucks being forced to buy that, or nothing until they do release a regular version.

that said, the notebook set, at least that had a VERY fair msrp. you didn't have to PAY for the forced extra items.

Hopefully that price will drop. I would love both these titles on Blu-Ray but will not pay more than $30 apiece.

I was thinking the same thing. I imagine it would be a bitch to get the rights from Pink Floyd, but that'd probably make it worth a purchase all on its own.

About 10 years ago, a cable station (I think AMC) played the movie and had Dark Side of the Moon playing when you hit the SAP button. It was brilliant, no worrying about syncing things up.

"I don't we're in Kansas anymore?"... "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn!"

Two very exciting titles on the docket. Great news!!
