Default ‘The Midnight Meat Train’ - High-Def Digest Review

Tom has reviewed 'The Midnight Meat Train.' He says this is a terrific slasher. This Blu-ray has somewhat iffy video, better audio, and plenty of good bonus features. Recommended.

Hahahaha, the worst movie title ever, yet the movie isn't so bad.

Well, the title can be blamed on Clive Barker, since it's based on one of his stories that's over 20 years old… But it makes sense once you see it. :-)

Yeah. I just remember seeing the trailer and half the audience busting out in laughter as soon as the title appeared.

I enjoyed it up to the end. There was no explanation. It was a copout.

Not on my system it wasn't. But from what I've read, it's one of those love/hate PQs.

There was an explanation. In fact, this is Clive Barker's foray into HP Lovecraft territory.

I haven't listened to the commentary yet, so I can't confirm that that was his inspiration. I'm going by what it looked like to me.

Exactly! My theater busted out, as well. It's hard to take the ominous voice seriously when it identifies the title as 'Midnight Meat Train'...

I saw this for free on Comcast On Demand, though, and was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I also thought that the PQ was great on Comcast, so I'm surprised to see only a 3-star score for the Blu PQ.

I got to say that I enjoyed this flick and agree with the viewer on the PQ. The noise/grain (not sure if shot digitally or with film) was very inconsistent. Very noticable at first but as the flick went on it wasnt as a apparent. Or at least to me it didnt catch my attention as much as it did at the begining in the apartment.

If its in the commentary, that is why I haven't heard the explanation.
