Default 'Zodiac' -- pre-release buzz

Paramount has officially announced David Fincher's 'Zodiac' or Blu-ray release on July 24:

No specs yet. But I'm really looking forward to this one, as I didn't get to catch it in the theaters.

It's a good movie but it won't be day and date. The Blu-Ray & HD-DVD will release on 9/18 not in July with the DVD version.

I'm a huge Fincher fan and Zodiac was well done....but it's not really a flic I'd want to watch more than once more. I'd definitely recommend renting it first. It doesn't ooze coolness like his previous work.

Yeah that's lame but many studios are lame when it comes to both high-def formats.

I think that this is great, Zodiac is a title that will definitely benefit from extras! I will rather wait and let Paramount do it right than buy the movie now without extras and double dip later!

I think Paramount is screwing themselves. It only makes sense to release it with the DVD when your running your DVD commercials and there is Buzz around it. We know they wont run a seperate High Def commercial so both Zodiac and Shooter are gonna get lost

The bare-bones standard DVD release of Zodiac has a preview for the 2-disc special edition of the film, advertised as coming in 2008. There is no mention of hi-def, but today's announcement of a postponement of both hi-def versions makes sense. This way, there won't be double-dipping on hi-def. I understand them putting the bare-bones standard dvd out as soon as possible though.
