Default 'Sideways' - High-Def Digest Review

Ernie has reviewed 'Sideways.' He says this is a dry comedy worth watching. This Blu-ray isn't much of an improvement over the DVD, but fans should pick it up if they never grabbed the standard definition release, otherwise, give it a rent.

HDD should really start putting up a couple of screen caps. Many other reviews sites do that, it would be kind of useful to show a DVD and blu-ray frame if you are going to be comparing the DVD to the blu-ray. The DVD could have been awful as far as we know.

Do they have 40 single layer disc? I thought it was 25 per layer. Fixed, it's double layer disc.

Well the movie isn't that bad and I guess it would make godd rentlal, at least.

One of my top 10 films of all time and a rather nice presentation on Blu-ray.

A must have for fans.

it seems like everyone loves this movie except me, perhaps I need to give it another shot as the first time I watched it, I hated it and could not wait for it to be over.

I just saw this last night. The PQ was alright but nothing amazing. I really liked the story and the characters though and I have to say that overall it tastes pretty good to me.

I am def. not a fan of this film at all. It has its moment, but how do people miss the direct relationship between this and Swingers? Sideways is middle-aged Swingers with wine country subbed in for Vegas/LA.

Loved it the first time, but it hasn't held up on repeated viewings for me.

A fantastic film; if only a middling upgrade on BD....certainly deserving of its multiple Oscar nods and a 96% rating on R/T's. Like wine, this movie gets better with every tasting.

This flick was kinda of easy-going but never thought it to be too funny. One view for me is enough

one view a WEEK is enough for me. if you could wear out a dvd, i wore out my sideways.

it is a great flick, but it is also a pretty below standard disc, due to the unimpressive video and audio. the audio had no chance, though, in my opinion, it's such a mellow film, you don't expect anything but soundtrack/score from the surrounds.

"Like-able guys, these are not."

Couldn't even finish this film, the self-loathing Miles was just too much.

You aren't the only one.

Watching a guy hate himself for 2 hrs is not my idea of fun. If it is, try Adaptation on for size.
