Default 'Assault on Precinct 13' - High-Def Digest Review

Peter has reviewed the original 'Assault on Precinct 13.' He says it's a true cult classic. This Blu-ray sports good video and audio and some worthwhile supplements. Worth a look.

Dude, where you been at? It's been out for almost 5 months. It's an Amazon exclusive, though.

how many times can you say "carpenter" in a movie review...? Looks like 25's a winner!

This score is really catchy - yes, it initially comes off as tired and cheesy, but then it just grabs you and you will find yourself humming it far after the movie is over. It is a significant part of the movie, IMHO.

Am I the only person who thinks Carpenter's scores are just awful?

Only problem with this review is the reference to "slow pacing" as an element that dates the film. Just because we have Michael Bay and Tony Scott melting the brains of moviegoers with MTV-editing does not mean a slowly paced film is "dated." It gen. just means it is better. (take that with a grain of salt)

I don't remember this being an exploitation flick. I think the media's using that term too much these days.
