Default 'In the Electric Mist' - High-Def Digest Review

Peter has reviewed 'In the Electric Mist.' He says this is almost good enough to become a sleeper, but some meddling with the US cut (the only version on this disc) makes the conclusion a bit disappointing. This Blu-ray features nice video (of beautiful cinematography), decent audio, and no supplements. This is a rental.

This character Jones is playing sound very similar to a character played by Alec Baldwin in the dreadful movie "Heaven's Prisoners", I think. The guy became a recovering alcoholic during the film and I'm pretty sure the character name is the same and took place in the bayou. Anyone know, is this the same character?

Yes, it's the same character.
I'm a big fan of James Lee Burke, imo a film adaptation is always going to disappoint, Burke is all about the language and the prose, that's hard to translate to film.

Yes, they're the same character, Dave Robicheaux. Both movies are based on novels by James Lee Burke.

FYI, don't know why this site and DVD Beaver got it wrong, but the disc has a trailer included in 1080p.

Hmmm, anyone know if there's an import of the international directors cut that works with a US bluray player? Sounds to me like that would be the version of the film to get.
