Default 'Any Given Sunday' - High-Def Digest Review

Josh has reviewed 'Any Given Sunday.' He says it's not one of Oliver Stone's all time best, but it's an interesting drama with a top rate, large cast. This Blu-ray has great video, decent sound, and some good extras. Worth a look.

I've always wanted to check this film out, maybe I'll give it a shot.

I'd have to disagree with the reviewer on this flick..... it is one of his best and the best football movie ever... or at least a close tie with "the program"

a must see/have for football fans

It is a pretty good football movie. Yeah, some of it is cliche', but as a football fan, that's something I pick up in any football film. I didn't really "buy" Cameron Diaz, and that's one of the few negatives I have on the movie. Very entertaining and even though it's long, it does bear out repeated viewings. Freddy

Love this film. It's a little glorified but man does that make it fun to watch!

It's one of Stone's best alright, and also my personal favourite sport's film. It feels so real that you forget you're watching a piece of fiction. Dynamite script, top-notch acting, and impeccable directing make this a must see for sure.
Still waiting for my copy to ship from Amazon; still says it's not in stock. Can't wait til it gets here though!!!

So say you like Oliver Stone, but you think watching football is, in and of itself, incredibly boring. Is this still worth seeing?

I've got the Westinghouse TX-42F430S 42" 1080p LCD. I know you may have heard bad things about it, but I've got to tell you: Never buy the Westinghouse TX-42F430S 42" 1080p LCD.

That's the position I'm in, and my thoughts are in the review.

Hmmm, I might just cancel my order for this title now.... I'll probably just wait and purchase it when it hits a lower price. Thanks for the input.

I don't care for football either, I don't watch it on tv, but I really enjoyed this flick. I have the bd. The AQ really puts you on the field.

I like when the linebackers taunt the QB's, "I'm gonna fuck you up!!!" Man, it's a real rush, cuz fools mangled!

But if you like the movie enough to buy it, there's no reason not to. It's still has good picture quality overall, even if it has some grain, which seems like it's the source and not the encode. I watched it and didn't have a whole lot to complain about.

Just purchased it. Saw it was finally in stock at Amazon.ca. You were right killowertz; this one's too good to pass up.

Very entertaining flick! Diaz is pretty annoying, but that fits her role. As Josh said (thanks for another good review btw!) there are strong performances throughout, I especially enjoyed Al Pacino as the not-quite washed-up coach and James Woods as the cynical doctor.
