Default 'Quarantine' - High-Def Digest Review

Josh has reviewed 'Quarantine.' He says it's a slick, but generic zombie thriller. This Blu-ray has good video, great audio, and thin supplements. A rental.

i liked this one in the theaters, but unfortunately all the best parts of the film were shown in the trailer. i'll probably pick this one up if the price is right.

'Quarantine' comes to Blu-ray from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Like almost all Sony titles, the disc opens with an annoying Blu-ray promo before the main menu to preach to you, the person already watching a Blu-ray disc, about how great the Blu-ray format is.

Downloaded and started watching the DVD rip. When the movie started getting good, I stopped it and told myself I'd wait and buy the blu-ray.

What a shame about the commentary, and the filmmakers not giving props to the original. I bet it's in their contract to keep their mouths shut, or some shit.

i would agree to your review of the film, definitely above average in terms of most recent american horror films, i was actually surprised by how decent it when i saw it in theaters, i was expecting absolute shit. I ended up seeing it twice(not by choice) and i may have been irritated by Angela the first time, but i HATED her the second, she gets worse every time its sooooo annoying, worse aspect of the film by far.

About the blu-ray disc vital stats section: Opening trailers aren't that annoying. If you don't want to watch them, you just gotta hit the skip button, or even the menu button if you wish; simple as that. What is annoying though on MANY dsics are those unskippable "FBI piracy warnings", the red video warning page (then it repeats to show you a french version of what it says), the US rating of the film, and then the studio's remark about how the view's expressed in the commentary and interviews don't relate to the studio. Now THOSE are annyoing.

How bad is the shaky-cam syndrome in this flick? Cloverfield kind of annoyed me due to that so I need to know.... please.

The director talks in the commentary about how he tried to tone down the shakiness, because the guy holding the camera was supposed to be a professional cameraman.

However, realistically, it's still shaky as hell. If you were bothered by Cloverfield, you probably won't like it here either.

I liked this even less than Josh (although I'm sure at least some of that had to do with ads that spoiled EVERYTHING). A better title would have been 'All-Purpose Jump Scares: Volume 4,' or maybe just 'BOO: The Motion Picture.'

Enjoyable for a single viewing, I find these kinds of films(and horrors in general but I'm sure some will disagree) have limited viewing potential for me as once you know when the scares are coming, it ceases to be scary. Anyways, I won't be buying, but one thing pissed me off tremendously. What moron thought it was a good idea to put the very end of the movie in the trailer? As Homer would say, 'DOH'!!
