Was the first season shot in widescreen? Why was the DVD not, then? Also 7.1!? Why? It was pro-logic, wasn't it?

^^^ To my knowledge the show has always been shot on HD video & Super35 film, in a 1.78:1 ratio with 5.1 sound.

I didn't have an HD set back in 2000, during the first season, but its on CBS and they were at the forefront of HDTV "back in the day"..... I'd assume it's been HD/5.1 from day one.

I love Seasons 1-4, I'm not sure what happened but I just stop watching. From there on, I just watched a few episodes here and there, I didn't really follow it. I was planning to watch William Petersen's last episode and I missed it.

Anyways, it's nice that Paramount is giving up the First in BD, unlike other Studios starting with the latest. I can't wait.
