New Terminator 2 BD?
I'm not sure if you are all aware but blu-ray.com has posted a rumor that a new edition of Terminator 2 could be coming out soon. If so, I hope that it will be an upgrade from the current one, not only for quality but for content as well. Bring on the extended version.

arrived. Oh, Star Wars, where are you? -

Hope this pans out, and it gets a new, great transfer with DTS-MA and all of the extras from previous DVDs. I was planning on importing the U.K. Blu-Ray before Terminator: Salvation hit theaters, but hopefully now I won't have to.

Hopefully this is true. I've held off on buying it because I wanted a "more complete" version than the one we got in the US. Still waiting on it....

German Distributor "Kinowelt" is planning to release T2 in Germany as an Ultimate Directors Edition in May 2009. This Edition will include three versions of the movie. Cinema-Version, Special Edition and Extended Special Edition on one disc. Maybe the same Disc will be released in the US as well?

No need to hope for anything. It's not a matter of if, but when. No-brainer an ultimate edition is happening for this title. Perhaps even a triple dip when all is said and done.

This is massive bullshit... massive. and I'm sure the fanboys will defend.
Am I the only one who sees the wrong in a rerelease of a major title only 2.5 years after it's launched, at a higher premium, to start the fears of nickle and diming the consumer? And before anyone says 'Troy on HDDVD', yes.. I think that was bullshit as well. Especially since it'ld be great if studios would focus on their other films that haven't released on Blu yet
I'll probably be a sucker and pick it up myself cuz I love the movie only yo turnaround and sell my current copy at a loss (or give it to a friend) but I think going forward I'm going to continue holding off until the price of Blus hits the super low prices. I don't buy day 1 anymore.Jose Mourinho, AVB & PDC fanboy - FORCA PORTO!

I understand the BS double dip... This is a new format though and the struggle to get that market acceptance doesn't happen when you nickle and dime the consumer with crap. How many releases still haven't been made and it seems like this will become the norm? Studios sometimes need to be put in their place with bad transfers, lackluster content, DD audio, etc for a high def format asking for higher premiums. I'm a huge T2 fan though, so Ill probably rent it 1st to see if it is worth the purchase. But there's a reason I stopped buying day 1 at full price due to disappointment in both HDM formats.

You too, huh? Wally World had them sitting there for $10 and I was like "screw it...."

As for the extended cut, I feel the theatrical one flows better. Sure, more scenes are cool but Im fine with the theatrical cut. Probably wont double-dip here because its not one of my absolute favorites or anything.Pioneer KURO 50"

I never purchased the first one because it screamed double-dip. Now my non-purchase was justified. I will be buying this one if it contains all three cuts of the film that were on the SE DVD.

does anyone really like the 3rd, secret cut with the old Sarah Conner? I just don't see the need for that version. It's a nice deleted scene, but that's it for me...
