Default 'Blade Runner' -- pre-release buzz

Since Warner is already heavily promoting 'Blade Runner' so well in advance of its October release date:

http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/sh...is_October/634

We've opened this thread to talk about the Blu-ray release.

Really looking forward to this one -- just about my favorite film of all-time, as I'm sure it is for a lot of you.

Can't wait to see the extras!!!

Yes,,,,,, its about time.

Now we just have to hope for a clean original and the possibility that we will get both versions.
I like both of them. Right now I can only view the original US version on my laser disc which I will never sell.
I personally do not like the standard DVD treatment it got. It could have been alot better, especially for a cornerstone movie like this one.

I'm not sure where High-Def Digest and other news outlets have come to the conclusion that this is a BR release also. It only features an HD-DVD logo on it.

On the backside of the Blade Runner ad is an ad for the Kubrick Collection, which clearly states that the Kubrick Collection is for both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray.

Looks like another Warner HD-DVD exclusive. At least for the time being.

Finally!

I've been waiting forever for this film to come out in special edition. A Blu-ray version would be killer. I can't wait to get my copy and watch it over and over.

What I read was that all the goodies and extras were not written for Blu-Ray (BDRom) and they wanted to wait for that. Since I have an LG BH100 I am relatively neutral in this war. I am still getting the HD version and will sell it off when the Blu-Ray version comes out later this year.

Of course, BladeRunner in HD is outstanding but, I really hope this release includes the "original" version featuring the narration by Harrison Ford. Anyone know if this is the case?

The commercial for the re-release that was shown a while ago had all three logos on it.
