Default 'Revolver' - High-Def Digest Review

Ernie has reviewed 'Revolver.' He says this is NOT your typical Guy Ritchie film, and it requires viewers to enter in the right frame of mind. This Blu-ray has strong, but problematic video, aggressive audio, and some good supplements. Worth a look.

I may give this one a try. I have never seen it before. I will wait to see what some of my other fellow hi def brothers and sisters have to say about this one. Right now..chalk this one up as a ''maybe''.

I really liked this movie, but it certainly isn't for everyone.

I'm getting the UK BD as soon as it's available at a reasonable price. Guy Ritchie is the sort of director to whom I'm prepared to give the benefit of the doubt. At least once.

Love this film(one of the few) and its not for everyone. It requires you to think and be prepared to have multiple viewings if you want to understand it all.

I like Guy Ritchie and picked this up on DVD when it came out, but can say I could care less if I ever see it again. The movie was interesting but nothing cries out saying watch me again.

My friends and I really liked this movie, I already have it on Blu. Well worth it, but I do agree with the review, it's a watch-twice movie. You can enjoy it if the first time for sure, but when the twist hits you toward the end of the first viewing, it makes the second viewing different.

I saw the twist a mile away which might be one of the reasons I didn't enjoy it. I thought it was one of the worst films I've rented.

It's been interesting sitting back for a bit to see what you all had to say. And as expected it's a love it or hate kind of flick. Who knows if anyone would have watched it had they known going in it's a metaphysical film. It was nice to see Guy come back to the same playground a bit, and play in the sand, but you could tell that this film definitely reflected what Ritchie was heavily into at the time.

I think sometimes you can be so passionate about something and get so deep into it, and it all makes sense and sounds good, but that's because you're surrounded by it. Then when you try to describe it to someone else, you just can't find the most efficient way to do it. I think Ritchie did a lot of looking into this subject, got so far deep that it was a simple screenplay for him about something he's passionate about, but then wanted to make it perfect and wanted to keep at it for THREE YEARS?!? and by that time, it's difficult to edit yourself or see clearly that it could have been tidied up quite a bit.

To me this felt like what Snatch would have been like if Darren Aronofsky directed it. It would be a must-buy for me if it wasn't for Ray Liotta's Travolta-esque performance.
