Do you have any substantial info or did you just rush this out to be the first one?

Movie was pretty terrible, but I'll give it a rent if it has a commentary on it. I NEED to hear what the hell Frank Miller was thinking. And at the very least, this movie made Disney get off its ass and put Sin City out on blu.

I was pretty excited for this before it came out, until all the terrible reviews started pouring in. I'll add it to my netflix queue and see if I like it.

Same here. Damn, I had a lot of faith in what Frank Miller could achieve if he was in total control of a project.

So, a definitive no-no? Is this The Spirit trying to be Sin City and failing? What's the downside of the movie anyways?

PS. It's way too soon to get a home release isn't it? I was used to wait 5, even 6 months before a movie from theaters could be available on DVD or in this case, Blu...

I'm surprised it's not coming out on the same day (supposedly) as Sin City. I think movie studios are releasing movie faster to capitalize on any fiscal momentum the movie may have had during its theatrical run. I'll rent this movies for the ladies in it alone.....

It's releases like this that make me realize how much I value my Netflix account. I'll check it out for sure.

I wouldnt say its horrible horrible, but its very very campy. If you go in expecting that, you should at least be entertained. Frank Miller's directin is pretty sloppy, he lets some dialogue scenes go on on and on. And some jokes maybe funny if you knew the backstory to it, but completely miss because its so obscure.

That being said I'd probably wouldnt buy it unless its goes really really cheap. But i'd say its worth a rental at least.

Agreed. After the terrible reviews, I waited until the very last day it was playing to see it, but I actually enjoyed it. The script is bad, the direction is all over the place, and the worst thing about it is Scarlett Johansson, who didn't seem to "get it" AT ALL. It's a mess, but hardly the worst movie I've seen.

But $39.95? Ouch. Do Lionsgate think they're only going to sell 100 copies so they'd better make as much as they can on each? If I could get this somewhere for $20 or so, I'd probably pick it up.
