Default 'Groundhog Day' - High-Def Digest Review

Peter's review of 'Groundhog Day' has been posted. He says that even after 16 years, this is still a great romantic comedy. This Blu-ray is also a treat, with quite nice video and audio and a fair smattering of extras and exclusives. Worth a look. Fans, you need not hesitate to pick this one up.

I've seen this movie a half dozen times on TV but never bought it on DVD so I will definately be picking this up on Blu when the price is right.

'Groundhog Day' is certainly one of the most adult and perceptive romantic comedies to come out of Hollywood in recent memory, and if just for that, it's own minor miracle.
this sentence just didn't gel. like it were missing a word. not nitpicking, seriously, curious.

wow, what atrocious box art! Nice superimposed hands! I think its hilarious how most dvd covers now have actors heads plastered on random bodies and just look ridiculous.

Default I hate this movie

and I won't be buying the Blu-ray. What an utter waste of time to watch the same scene 20 times in a row. Stupid!!!! The director should be taken out and shot.

Ahhhh, that would be because the system froze on me while I was editing this and I had to go back and redo all my edits at the last minute. Should be fixed shortly.

...yeah, about that...there are no repeated scenes. Each time a scene plays out that has been played before, there's a difference, some major, some minor. there is NO wasted scenes in the film, each retake has a reason. the film is very taught for it's runtime, and is about a journey of self discovery, the bettering of oneself, and the acceptance of one's fate, and as such, it won't appeal to everyone.

I DIDN'T LIKE IT the first time i watched it all the way through. but i gave it another chance, and after that, another, and it's become a regular view for me, as it gets better with every viewing. the film has enormous replay value, and ages fantastically.

and Mike- it's all good, nothing important got ze chop (inside joke, i suppose, this be)

Man, stay away from Run Lola Run and Vantage Point. You'd REALLY hate those if you think this is repetative.

Can I mention that the review has an egregious error. The main character's name is Phil Connors, not Bill. If you don't believe me check IMDB, or the credits to this great film.

whoa, didn't catch that. that's more a slip than an error, as he said bill murray right before that, so bill is on the mind. but yeah, that's kinda funny lol
