Default 'Chronicles of Narnia' -- pre-release buzz

Disney has unveiled plans to release 'Chronicles of Narnia' on Blu-ray sometime this year:

http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/sh...or_Blu-ray/626

No release date yet, but it's going to be the studio's next big catalog release on high-def.

There's also other tidbits in there, including a September move for 'Cars' and no animated classics on Blu-ray (at least in 2007).

Re: Cars, I'm OK with waiting a bit longer for a release done right. Cheers to quality!

I agree. Last time I watched the DVD, I was thinking, this would look great on Blu-ray. (but then again, I pretty much do that with all my dvd's )

I have yet to see this. I recorded it the other night in widescreen. I'll have to give it a gander.

It's an enjoyable film with a cute cast in it. I would have to say that the acting would not be considered oscar worthy with the sole exception of the lovely little girl that played Lucy. however, the tale itself is captivating. I originally saw this film at the El Capitan where they relaly do up the entire environment to feel like you're in Narnia. But even months afterwards, when I bought the DVD and watched it again, it was really a fun movie to watch.

I never bought this in SD for, what I call, the "LOTR/StarWars Reason" (you buy one version and the next comes out a month later). Anyways, I'll have to get this in BD.

Not a big fan of the movie, though my daughter loves it.

Great to hear a target release date for Cars. I was watching it the other day thinking how great it would look on Blu-Ray.

I think this one is a pass for me, I am happy with the DVD and I did not like the movie enough to buy it again.

The trailer they had on the Pioneer Blu ray demo disc for their player looked absolutely STUNNING imo. I would always use that section of the blu-ray to show people if they wanna see the best picture possible (at the time anyway). Also keep in mind this was playing on the Pioneer Elite Blu-ray player on the 1080p Elite plasma so yea, of course it was gonna look great.
