Default 'ABBA: The Movie' - High-Def Digest Review

Peter has reviewed 'ABBA: The Movie.' He says this is worth checking out if you're a fan of ABBA or kitschy pop-culture classics. This Blu-ray has strong video and audio and some good supplements.

There really is one reason a band can live this long and still be loved by many: the songs were actually that good.

Of course everyone has individual tastes but cultural flashes in the proverbial pan just don't have the legs like the ABBA's of the world without something of actual substance.

might wanna fix the top review link that goes to the import. instead it goes to the EDITOR/ADMIN sign in.

that's DEFINITELY not the link you want posted.

that movie came out in July of 2008, just seemed kind of weird.

We're trying to get things rolling. There were some personal mishaps this weekend that we're working through and around. We'll be back in shape soon. This is the part where we don our grey sweatsuits and run around the streets while the neighbors cheer us on.

I think that's because, as it says at the top part of the review, "Non-format specific portions of this review also appear in our review of the imported Blu-ray." When the import disc was reviewed in March 2008, 'Mamma Mia! The Movie' had not yet been released.

Have an unanswered query on this title in older thread, and update fails to settle.

The Amazon link goes to old version, Polydor, 1.33:1, etc., and I have asked Amazon already (without success) to clarify if the latest Universal pressing will be delivered.

Also, confusion between whether this disk is 1080p or 1080i. Update review says 1080i which is printed on the older disk packaging, although a user on Amazon claims it is a printing error.

All in all, a mixed bag of errors. Need a Toyota quality check somewhere. Still hanging on to buy the Universal version, but when?
