Creepy-ass movie. I don't know why, but this movie creeps the hell outta me.
Anyone notice Sam Raimi's little bother in it?

Pass for me, I'm not a big fan of the American remakes of J-Horror.

Gellar should retire or go back to being buffy.

If I remember correctly the extras seem about the same as the director's cut DVD; I hope it's that version. It was passably creepy once in a while, but the PG-13 cut was pretty thoroughly wretched.

i actually liked this remake(I even liked the grudge 2
) sure its not as good as the original Ju-on but it still had some decent scares plus I like Gellar so this is a must own for me It would be nice if it was the directors cut or the extended cut whatever its called but ill take the rated version if thats all we get.

Ju-on is a interesting series of films. I saw the originals a few years before the so-so remake with Gellar. I just wish they would release the prequel, I'm still holding on to my crappy bootleg dvd version because it's never been released in the states. To me you have to watch the prequel to get more out of JU-On. It shows how the boy and his mom became spirits and explains the curse on the house, plus it has Chiaki Kuriyama who most would know as Gogo from Kill Bill, it also explains the cat. I think it's the creepiest of the bunch.
The prequel was shown on t.v. and was so popular that Takashi was able to release The Grudge in theatres. If you haven't seen The Grudge 2 "Original" I recommend that one over the US remake because it's considerably different. Takashi didn't want to do a straight up remake like he did with The Grudge, and the only way he would do the US Grudge 2 is if he could do something completely different. I don't blame him, how boring it would be to shoot a film and then do an identical US remake. I think we are finally seeing the pull back from hollywood from all these J-Horror and Thai flicks. Now we just have to put up with all these idiots who are doing remakes of US films like Friday the 13th, did you see the trailer with Jason sharpening his machette on a grinder? what the hell is that all about. And it's from the same people who did the Texas Chainsaw remake, how original these people are. It's like all those crappy comedy spoof films like Spartans and Disaster, that's what these guys are doing in the horror genre. My Bloody Valentine i've been waiting to be redone, it was one of my guilty pleasures when I was a kid, and I am interested in the 3-D. I'm sure Happy Birthday To Me will be coming soon, and if it does I'll volunteer to have my head go into the motorcycle tire spokes. |

I am happy with my Import but fans of the film should scoop this up for sure! Excellent flick with great direction and a good, dark atmosphere. Some complain because its PG-13. I say who cares? Whattaya need big gobs of blood and guts to make it scary? Too much cheesey gore makes horror movies FUNNY...like all that Eli Roth garbage and stoopid crap like that.

If this is the Director's Cut, I'll pick it up, but probably not on its release date since that is when Batman Anthology comes out, and the same week RE5 is out.
