Default 'Friday Night Lights' - High-Def Digest Review

Peter has reviewed 'Friday Night Lights.' He likes this variation on your typical sports drama. This Blu-ray has the same video as the previous HD DVD, new high-res audio, and some all new supplements (along with the original materials). Worth checking out.

All of the original supplements that the HD DVD had but a lower score haha. Doesn't matter, just glad that the video and audio are still good, as I've been looking forward to replacing my HD DVD copy.

Thank god, Peter finally got a good movie to review.

This is definitely on my buy list. I had no idea the Blu-ray has several more special features than the DVD did, so that's awesome and something to look forward to. Hope to get it cheap soon!

Picked it up as soon as i could get my hands on it, love this movie, as not a very big sports guy i liked the alternate view to the lifestyle then just scene after scene, montage after montage of football plays.

Plus I've been dragged to a Tim Mcgraw concert before and it wasn't all that bad.

I read the book for a college course, so I was pretty thrilled when (about 5 years after I read it) I found out they were making a movie based on it. Pretty good sports movie that goes a bit outside the box thanks to the source material.

"Because let's face it, at the end of any rousing, inspirational film about sports we demand that the home team win the big game. Would 'Rocky' have become an Oscar-winning triumph if Rocky had gotten beaten to a pulp and died in the final round?"

I'm guessing this will be the first of many "you know, Rocky actually lost the big fight" posts. Ha!

I know this consistently gets good reviews and I like the people involved, but because of the many conventions mentioned in the opening paragraph and the fact that I find real-life football games paralyzingly dull, I keep not getting around to it. Can anyone tell me whether this would be entertaining to someone who thinks of the phrase "sports movie" the way other people think of "chick flick?"

I've got the Westinghouse TX-42F430S 42" 1080p LCD. I know you may have heard bad things about it, but I've got to tell you: Never buy the Westinghouse TX-42F430S 42" 1080p LCD.

I didn't even notice that. He didn't get beaten to a pulp and die... he hung with Apollo, but he still didn't win technically, even if he did win in other ways. Maybe he should change his example to "Rocky 2".

He also refers to the team in Hoosiers as the Iowa Huskers... but they were from Indiana and were the Hickory Huskers.

Just want to make it clear I was just being a smartass and NOT making another one of those tiresome "ohmigod, Peter B. doesn't know what he's talking about" posts.* Everybody remembers Rocky winning...and, with a gun to their heads, I bet few people would be able to recall the entire name of the team from 'Hoosiers.'

*I know that's not what you were doing either, by the way.
