Same here. I've heard all the hype about the mini-series and with the price being under $40, I didn't think I could go wrong. HBO rarely does anything that I don't like, or at the least appreciate. I'm waiting on my set to arrive from Amazon. Freddy

Great review, Kenneth. You are spot on with this one. The DNR was minimal and did not really detract from otherwise very solid PQ.

Ken, thanks for pointing out the DNR but not spergin' out over it like the guys in the PQ thread over at AVS. It's good to see people still can look at a blu-ray for what it is and acknowledge faults without instantly claiming anything DNR-d is Satan incarnate. Also, great to see you still doing reviews. The thread in feedback got me worried.

Ken,

While I very much respect your opinion, you clearly state a "lumping in" effect with other Warner titles on this one. The listing of HBO at the head of your review shows you know who distributes this content. That, combined with the presence of DTS HDMA audio as the primary track should tell you that Warner did not do this disc at all. HBO is simply owned by Time Warner and is not a subsidiary of Warner Bros. I'm very happy to say that as HBO puts out outstanding content year after year and this was no exception. Total blind-buy for me!

I bought this rather blindly and have watched the first 9 of the 10 episodes. I almost don't want to watch the last one because I know that it's going to be over after that. I am DEFINTIELY going to rewatch them as this is one of the best miniseries that I've ever seen. It is absolutely wonderful and looks awesome on blu ray.

I bought this on release. Forget the niggling on DNR, the transfer is fantastic.

I take it that you didn't suffer through The Comeback, or (worse yet) Tourgasm?

Completely agree... I have yet to meet any guy that does not LOVE this series. Females are a different story... but most of them would at least agree that it is well made.

I've seen both standard and high-def versions, and while both are fun to watch it is stunning on Blu-Ray.

I wasn't much of a fan of the Mind of the Married Man either...
