Never even heard of it. What is it about? Actually, what type of movie is it, as it sounds like a chick flick?

Great news! Loved it. Anne Hathaway made an Oscar worthy performance...

From IMBD.com

"Rachel Getting Married" is a contemporary "drama with an aggressive sense of humor" about the return of an estranged daughter to the family home for her sister's wedding. Kym's reemergence throws a wrench into the family dynamics, forcing long-simmering tensions to surface in ways both hilarious and heartbreaking. "Rachel Getting Married" paints a colorful, nuanced family portrait. Written by Jacob Felix

When KYM (Anne Hathaway) returns to the Buchman family home for the wedding of her sister RACHEL (Rosemarie Dewitt), she brings a long history of personal crisis and family conflict along with her. The wedding party's abundant cast of friends and relations have gathered for an idyllic weekend of feasting, music and love, but Kym with her black-comic one-liners and knack for bombshell drama is a catalyst for long-simmering tensions in the family dynamic.

Filled with the rich and eclectic characters that have always been a hallmark of Jonathan Demmes films, RACHEL GETTING MARRIED paints a strikingly perceptive and sometimes hilarious family portrait. Director Demme, first-time writer Jenny Lumet, and the stellar acting ensemble leaven the drama of these difficult but compelling people with wry affection and generosity of spirit.

You kidding!? Well yeah its an indie film, they hardly get recognized unless your really into cinema, but it has Jonathan Demme the director of Silence of the Lambs behind it. I've yet to see it but ive heard many great word of mouth about it, more so on Hathaway's performance.

Great!

Very happy that this is getting a BD release... if it hadn't been announced I was going to make my first DVD purchase in a while.

This movie was very good - you really get that fly on the wall feeling rather than normal "staged" quality. The music is also really good throughout - I bought the soundtrack.

Default Sick of the amature style.

One movie got away with the home movie style in my opinion and it wasn't that great. Why to producers and directors think it is so terrific to make a movie I have to pay $5-$10 to see and it looks worse than if I was holding the camera myself? I love Anne Hathaway to peices but I am so sick of this filming style I could throw up!

Knock it off already!

my understanding is it was done to make you feel you were really there and apart of the festivities. It was to bring you up close and personal. Dunno about you, but I felt that vibe.
