back when paramount released dual-format titles, the encodes were already different. for example, early hd dvds had vc-1 encodes while the early blu-rays had mpeg2 encodes. so, paramount was already in the habit of creating different encodes. some of the examples that you mentioned were already completed and pressed but simply kept in a warehouse when paramount joined the red camp.

I got my copy today. The authoring date on this is 9/30/08. This has to be a reencode. Paramount didn't do TrueHD on Blu's when they stopped.
