Default 'Day of the Dead' - High-Def Digest Review

Since last night's review was delayed due to technical problems, I thought I'd give you guys tonight's review a little earlier. Peter has reviewed the remake of 'Day of the Dead.' He was pleasantly surprised by this one (especially with all the film's bad word of mouth). The Blu-ray itself is sort of so-so, with cheap video, audio, and supplements. Worth a look.

I know reviews are completely subjective and all, but 3 stars for this "movie"?
Oooookaaay.

I saw the dvd release of this title when it came out , it wasn't that good. But, I would rather watch this again than watch 88 minutes for a second time, well maybe. I remember seeing Romero's Day of the Dead in the movie theatres, and felt let down by it at first, but now have grown to appreciate it alot more. Romero's Day had Savini's makeup in it which this one lacks. Stupid dialogue, so-so zombie makeup, bland acting and a vegetarian eating zombie, what the fu*k is that all about.
Also when a zombie jumps off a roof or some high area to the ground his bones would break, the zombie obviously wouldn't care, but it would mess it up if they tried to run off. In this film the zombies have super powers, they climb on the walls and ceiling's and can jump off of very high places with no effect to their body. I think it would have been funny as hell if a zombie jumped off a roof, twisted up it's legs with bone sticking out and tried to be mobile for the rest of the film. Like the zombie from Dawn of the Dead who walks around holding the machine gun at his face the whole time.

Wow, three stars???? This turd gets three stars??? My respect for the reviews on this site just hit a new low. Just happy to see that this movie at least gets ripped to shreds in most other reviews I've read... It's probably the worst horror (with a fair budget at least) to come out since they remade The Fog.

This movie is one of the worst I have seen by far and I have seen some bad movies. At least some bad movies are fun to watch. This one just hurt. Horrible acting and special effects and don't get me started on the Zombies crawling on the ceiling.

I agree. This is hands down one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I can usually be entertained in some way with just about any movie I watch, but I'd have to say this terrible. I can't recommend anyone spending an hour and a half to watch this. I've been trying to think of something even remotely as bad as this and can't come up with anything. -3 Stars would have been too good. I think I'd recommend Ishtar over this.

Thumbs down 3 Stars?

I don't normally comment on the reviewers opinion on a film but really, come on, three stars for this worthless piece of garbage? I guess if I want reviews on movies (not picture quality) I shall have to go to a real movie review site...

I nearly chocked on my cornflakes when I read this...

Seriously though, THREE STARS!!!?!??

Three stars? Are you on friggin crack dude? THis movie is the biggest piece of **** ever. Wow, I was already conflicted on the reviews here, but this review just made me lose all faith with you guys. It got more stars than Live and Let Die, and that is a phenomenal movie. No wonder No Country for Old Men got great reviews, you don't know what the hell a good movie is.

Lol.
Don't say you weren't warned.
I am a big fan of most all things zombie, and I could barely tolerate this movie. I'm generally forgiving of crappy movies and try to find some worthiness in them. This one is at the top of my short list of crap.

Land of the Dead gets 2 1/2 stars while this shit gets 3? This is easily one of the worst movies I have seen this year. Peter should quit his job and review children's books or something.

Hard to believe he actually thinks this is better than the Romero classic. I mean, it's got a vegetarian zombie in it! The zombies crawl around on the ceiling! The whole thing is completely boring with complete idiots for characters!

Whatever dude.

If he would have given the movie the one star it deserved but mentioned that it was so bad that it was fun to watch, for some people maybe, then his review might be credible but to give it three stars and then put down Romero's version at the same time then I just don't know. I mean I am a big fan of grade B movies and worse, in fact I usually prefer to watch them instead, but I would never give them a rating that equals what a real movie would get.
