Default 'Live and Let Die' - High-Def Digest Review

Josh's review of 'Live and Let Die' has been loaded. He says Moore's first time around as Bond is sort of middle=of-the-road 007. This Blu-ray is great and packs plenty of special features.

Was considering picking this disc up, maybe I will. We'll have to see.

very good review. moore was my favorite bond. he was born to play the role because he is charming and suave which bond is. bond isn't a jason bourne character that the franchise is trying to copy now. spy who loved me is my favorite bond flick, glad it's coming soon. as for live and let die, jane seymour was so cute, innocent, and hot. I have always enjoyed yaphet kotto, especially in midnight run, and the rest of the casting was good also. the picture quality for the entire set of bond films is excellent.

I liked this movie enough to buy it. Jane Seymour is a plus.

One of my favorite Bond movies, despite Pepper, and it looks very good as well. A must rent for anyone, but its not a buy for everyone...

I enjoyed the disc. Colors were amazingly vivid and I don't recall any picture anomolies, all the while the image was mostly sharp.

I actually enjoyed the audio. Never expected that film to have so active a surround presence and I for one enjoyed the level of the George Martin score.

This is one of the Bond movies I can definitely do without.

Quote:
Agent 007 took his first drop in quality as far back as 'You Only Live Twice' (1967), a ridiculous and ungainly mess of a spy adventure. Frankly, Sean Connery's final appearance in 'Diamonds are Forever' (1971) is a turkey almost as bad as anything to follow.
While I absolutely agree on 'Diamonds are Forever', 'You Only Live Twice' was a blast. Ridiculous, yes, but great entertainment. Thou shalt not talk trash about 'You Only Live Twice'!

Heavily into necrophilia - still enjoying 'dead' HD DVDs.

1UP+ Roger Moore and The Spy Who Loved me are the best Bonds.

I like the movie. Sure a lot of it was laughable and they tried to go into black culture but turned it into voodoo crap(
Spoiler:
I still dont understand why they would send up a glass skeleton man first not knowing anything was wrong above ground)
..but Im also a sucker for creatures(love shark attacks, etc) so the alligator scene was AWESOME! also felt the chase by river was overdrawn but ow well. Anyway decent film. The PQ and AQ are pretty top notch. Jane Seymour is sexy in HD.! Overall,, its worth it...also considering I got the collection for 60 bucks but is worth it nonetheless for any bond fan!

Movie: 3.5/5
PQ: 4/5
AQ: 4/5

Hmm.. Glad I waited the month to get an actual review, and not bother with the one you linked. If I paid attention to your review, I wouldn't know the Disc may not work in my machine.

Decent movie until Sheriff Pepper comes along and stops the movie dead in its tracks. It never really recovers.

Basically agree with the review, except that I still find Sheriff Pepper uproariously funny.

And I don't really think it was cashing in on the black exploitation movement as the film makers acknowledge they were taking a pretty big risk in the making of doc.
