Default 'Jet Li's Fearless' - High-Def Digest Review

Peter's review of 'Fearless' has been posted. He found this movie to be a pleasant surprise. This Blu-ray has excellent audio and video, three versions of the film, but NO extras. Worth a look.

So let me get this straight, the Blu-Ray has 3 versions of the film, yet the rating drops from 4.5 to 4 stars for the movie itself??

I love this movie, but probably won't be upgrading from my . I'll just save my money for "Hero" and "Fist of Legend" when those finally go

(Note that the DTS-MA comes out of the box at a louder volume than the DD-Plus, so make sure you level match or risk ear damage.) Unfortunately, dialogue can sometimes be obscured during the loudest scenes, more than on the Dolby track on the HD DVD.
Great advice...but was it properly followed in the comparison and did the TrueHD soundtrack accentuate the bass response and rear presence courtesy of being more dynamic?

Cool. I liked this movie. I'll pick it up eventually. My wallet is still smoking from Oct & Nov though.

'Fearless' has been criticized by some Jet Li fans
I wonder if that's just in America. I've not heard that before.

It's hideous IMO. The UK one is much better:

http://www.dvdactive.com/news/releases/fearless5.html

The disc is a port of the American disc, including the unusual (for The UK) Spanish subs. It even wrongly states:

"Includes Theatrical and Unrated Cuts".

There's no such thing as an Unrated Cut in The UK (it's illegal) and our Theatrical Cut was the Unrated Cut anyway.

Jet Li actually said last Wushu film not last film. This was then misread and "last film" was said everywhere.

Good review. I think I might pick this up. I must also point out that this film wasn't considered Jet Li's final film or even his last martial arts film, it was his last period martial arts film. If I remember correctly he was just tired of playing the history greats. I don't blame him either. He has been doing it all his life. I haven't seen warlord so I do not know if he kept his word.

Well, you know, except for Forbidden Kingdom, which he made afterwards.

Yep, definitely double-dipping.
