Default 'Tropic Thunder' - High-Def Digest Review

Ken's review of 'Tropic Thunder' has rumbled its way online. He says this is an infectious comedy that lands on Blu-ray with stunning video, powerful audio, and gung ho supplements. Highly recommended.

I didn't like the movie as much as he did. I might pick it up if the price goes down some.

Glad to hear the disc has great pq/aq. I purchased the edition with the free shirt, so it was a pretty sweet buy. Also picked up Slevin, gonna watch 'em both tomorrow.

As a collector I will likely pick this up at some point but not at the whole 27.99 bit everywhere. I find myself feeling a bit silly paying for these movies when a week or two later many are 19.99. I was at Target today and they had Indy 4, Iron Man, and Kung Fu Panda all for 19.99.

As far as the movie the wife and I saw this in the theater and enjoyed it. She liked it alot more than me as she prefers the comedies. Ben Stiller bugs me pretty fast. Jack Black can be annoying sometimes too but he was fine in this and KFP. I love Robert Downey Jr. though.

On a side note is it me or is the theater to disk window really getting short. Wasnt this just in the theaters just a couple months ago. Weird.

Thanks to Live Cashback and DeepDiscount 25% off, I've procured this for under $20. The question is, how long will it take the swamped DD to ship?

great review but I must say the PQ and AQ get 5 stars. reference quality tier 0 placement for picture quality. the jungle visuals were fantastic. no gripes, the grain was a perfect balance to enrich the great detail. terrific cast and a comedy classic.

It was a late summer hit and was, in fact, still in some theaters earlier this month: http://movies.yahoo.com/mv/boxoffice...nd/2008/11/09/

I think Paramount wants to capitalize on the holiday season by releasing it well in advance of Christmas.

Gotta say that I love Jay Baruchel's little improve on the HD DVD versus Blu-ray format war. Something that only a minority (us) would appreciate.

I too thought it wasnt as good of film for its gutbusting humor, but instead its wit. Downey Jr. made me grin the whole time through. Great Review! Will get this later on.
