Default 'Within Temptation: Black Symphony' - High-Def Digest Review

Ken has reviewed 'Within Temptation: Black Symphony.' He says this is an interesting concert title, especially for fans of the band. This Blu-ray features an excellent video transfer, jaw dropping audio, and a decent trio of features (though the bonus DVD is only PAL compatible). This one is pricey, so do some research first.

Great review!! In any case Sharon Den Adel in HD is priceless. And it was a damn good concert too. . The PAL DVD is just as good, IMO. It's playable with the BH 200 LG Player.

Solid review, although I don't see the point in knocking off points simply because the bonus DVD wont work for certain people. I ordered this from Amazon.fr when I first read the review on another site, and it was well worth it.

The bonus DVD will work for most people as long as they have a DVD Player, since almost all DVD players have the remote hacks that enable other-region material to be played, even though they're not marketed as "region free".

To me, this is a "must own" for not only fans of the band, but for fans of concerts on HD period.

Anyway, like I said, solid review. I just didn't agree with that one small detail, that's all.

To those of you on the fence, check out the trailer:

I don't know if anyone will read this since it's a pretty old thread, but I felt compelled to sign up and write a note to Mr. Keneth Brown. Couple of things I want to mention.
1. My personal opinion of critics is that they are absolutely unnecessary, however, your review was very well organized and based mostly on the technical attributes of the DVD and I felt I learned something from it for which I applaud you.
2. I will point out the comment that caught my attention the most: "It may not be the most beautiful concert disc I’ve reviewed". In a very respectful and friendly manner, I dare you to tell me at least 2 concerts from the same category that are better as an overall experience than Black Symphony. I have seen hundreds of concerts and in my opinion this was the most mind blowing experience I have had, watching a concert, in a very very long time. (I have to go back to old Pink Floyd to compare it to something)
3. Finally thank you again for the unobtrusive and pleasant review. You became one of my two critics that I will refer to when I want to learn something new.

Great first post. Really, terrific job with that.

I must apologize to other people reading this and for me not being on topic.
Mr. Zyber, if you are an intelligent man you must realize that any argument about a critic judging a piece of art based solely on technical specifications will always be won by the critic, however if he or she expresses a personal opinion about that same art and states it as a fact, meaning this is good or this is bad, then you have no grounds for argument. Every person on this planet capable of thinking has a taste and art is a matter of personal taste, mot a social quality. I gave my praise to the author of the article because he did not force his opinion on anyone and judged the concert only based on technical characteristics.
By the way, I am a web designer, which is a form of art and it is also personal taste, so you can criticize my work all you want it won't make a difference to me or my clients.
