Default 'District B13' - High-Def Digest Review

Kenneth's review of 'District B13' is up. He says Fans of plotless martial arts extravaganzas should feel right at home with this one ignoring the film's shortcomings to enjoy the insanity of the film's amazing Parkour runs. As a Blu-ray release, the video quality on this one is quite impressive and the audio packages are also very nice -- the only thing spoiling the fun here is a weak set of supplemental offerings.

Finally i was wondering when this was going to come out on blu-ray. I loved this movie when i saw it on DVD.
This movie was good enough to be ripped off by Casino Royal (some parts frame by frame)

I wonder how the reviewers know what to fault when reviewing blu-ray (and HD-DVD) materials. The equipment is mostly first and second generation HD so it is possible the actual equipment isn't quite up to perfect reproduction of the source material.

When DVD's first came out players, discs and displays were all over the map in terms of final display quality. Many times, it was the display or the player that was the weak link and not the disc itself. I still own and watch the first a few of DVD's I ever purchased (2001: A Space Odyssey, Blade Runner) I can say unequivocally that first and second generation players were awful on these discs but modern DVD players make them look pretty good.
