It's gotten to the point now where any a/v reviews lower than 5 stars would be a massive disappointment for Disney/Pixar titles. Man, they do a hell of a job, Can't wait to pick this up on Tuesday!

I agree. This is a must own movie. Who new an animated movie could have so much emotion with very little dialogue.

Cover art says it is 5.1 DTS-MA, not 6.1. Is this true?
And where is the Pixar Story. It's nearly 2 hours long...it's the main reason I was going to purchase this set!

Default The Pixar Story?

I too am wondering where The Pixar Story went. What's weird is they show the 2-disc version and mention 3 discs. Maybe Pixar doesn't count Digital Copy as one of the discs and the 3-disc version contains the documentary plus Digital Copy. One can only hope. I saw the documentary at SIGGRAPH this year with an opening by John Lasseter and it was simply inspiring and amazing.

Completely agree with the review of this movie...I saw it five times in the theatre, and I'm taking Tuesday off. It's kind of become an obsession of mine. Best film of 2008, as far as I'm concerned. And yes, I have seen The Dark Knight...

One quick correction, though...this is the ninth feature by Pixar, not the seventh. Toy Story, A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2, Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars, Ratatouille and now Wall•E.

I think it's ninth:

Toy Story
A Bug's Life
Toy Story 2
Monsters Inc.
Finding Nemo
The Incredibles
Cars
Ratatouille
Wall-E

Man, can't wait to add this to my Blu-ray collection! I loved this movie. I doubt it will win best picture, but maybe it'll get a nomination.

Windows V: Nice timing.

And I really do hope it receives a nomination for Best Picture. Looking at the Oscar submission rules, it appears as though the Academy is solely responsible for choosing which films are eligible for Best Picture, while the Best Animated Feature category actually has a submission process that the studios need to go through. Films which are submitted to the Best Animated Feature category are still eligible for Best Picture nods.

That means it's entirely possible that it will win the Best Animated Feature category (this should be automatic...Kung Fu Panda was good, but it's pretty basic stuff in comparison to Wall•E) and be nominated for Best Picture. That'd be a first....and if memory serves, the last animated feature to receive a Best Picture nomination was Beauty and the Beast back in 1991 (long before the Best Animated Feature prize was established).

I think that the 2 disc set includes the digital copy due to what I am reading on retail sites... I'm not sure about the Pixar Doc though and if that's on the 3 disc....
