Peter's review of 'Alice Cooper: Live in Montreux' is up. He says Alice Cooper fans will enjoy this 2005 concert, which showcases the shock rocker still kicking butt, 40 years on. This Blu-ray release is strong in the video department, but for some reason, Eagle Rock has demoted the DTS track from Lossless Master Audio (included on the HD DVD) to simply standard surround for this Blu-ray release, knocking this disc's overall grade down a half a point compared to its HD DVD counterpart.

Wow, this bad boy of a BD kicks ass!!!!
It's a cool DTS mix, everything is crystal clear and like the original review said--Alice Cooper sounds great--even got in shape a bit. Ryan Roxie kicks ass on the gee-tar, and Eric Singer smashes on the drums. I don't know who the other guitar player is or the bass player. When he sings "Poison", I cranked it up to an "eleven"! ![]() ![]() Very cheaply priced for a great multichannel surround sound performance. That's all I got. -cheez avenger P.S. I hope they remaster Brutal Planet for release. |

Let's face it. Alice Cooper has been about as far off the musical map as you can get since about 1976 or so. But for me, "The Coop," as many of his fans called him back then, was a defining influence. I first discovered Alice as a teenager in the seventies. If it is your high school years that define who you will become in your adult life, the fact that Alice Cooper was my adolescent hero probably explains a lot.
