Default 'The Polar Express Presented in 3-D' - High-Def Digest review

Peter has reviewed 'The Polar Express Presented in 3-D.' He says the film falls short of the 'holiday classic' title that it strives for, but it's still visually spectacular. This new Blu-ray adds a 3-D version and Dolby TrueHD sound, which combined with nice 2-D video and a chunk of extras, makes this worth a second visit.

dont agree with the movie review itself I think it is will be a classic it has always been a favorite of mine since i first saw it in Imax back in 04. As for the PQ I have seen it at a friends house and I agree it great looking and this and I am sure other reviews have made the 3D sound very interesting. I will pick up this version since i passed up the regular blu release last year

So this looks like the definitive release to take the plunge in 3-D BD, right?

No Hanna Montana nonsense, and no sterile storytelling like Journey to the Center of the Earth?

Any other 3-D releases planned for the near future? Or should I definitely stick with this one now?

Now I'm kicking myself for not holding out. I now have two copies in (I got one for free w/ an HD-A35). This will most likely be my first to double-dip.

Don't you need a 120hz tv to view 3D material?

Or am I off track?

a warning to anyone who might have been thinking of the warner holiday boxset, with polar express, christmas story, elf, christmas vacation that came out the same day polar express 3d and elf came out.
if your getting it and thinking your going to be getting the 3d version of polar express and the special edition of christmas story, save your money, both of those titles in the box are the orginal releases. i was so angry when i opened up the box this morning and saw that, i promptly returned it to bestbuy where i was fortunate to get a understanding cs girl who let me return it after i explained that i was under the impression it would include the new releases of both polar express and christmas story especially at the 95 dollar price tag.
she didnt have to and i never actually thought they would take it back, but she said no problem and understood and refunded me my money.

Giving without receiving?
sound like this film is truly fresh and honest.

I mean, how would Christmas be economicaly motivated if everyone did'nt get psychologicaly hearded to a shoppingspree, and who would buy this disc, or anything? it be the end of life as we knew it.

Finally found this today at Target. None at Best Buy, none at Sam's, BJ's, Wal Mart, etc. Was excited to purchase it. Once I watch it I'll definitely post my thoughts (about the presentation specifically 3-D and audio improvements) I own the HD DVD, and this is now the third format I own this movie on! I'm a big fan of it.

Looking forward to your thoughts on the 3D, and TrueHD compared to the DD+ on the HD-DVD. I also own the HD-DVD and am cuious if there is a noticable dif in the audio.
