Weinstein Co. has announced the a January 6 bow for 'Superhero Movie':

ill be picking this up, thought the movie was great, but it needed to be a bit longer, it is much better than the last few spoof movies

This was very good for the type of movie it was. Must buy for me. 10X better than Meet the spartans, scary movie 4, etc. IMO its up there with Scary Movie 1.

he already was in a now-obsolescent thread, IIRC.

Spartan has some good tastes. he just also has some...bad tastes. we all do, in varying degrees. the older you get, the more different you see things. films i used to LOVE i can barely stand. films i used to LOATHE i can appreciate now. taste evolves, or de-evolves, in some cases.

give me a month, in which every day i tell you (Ben), or Spartan what to watch, and nothing else, and i bet your tastes would change SOME, maybe not drastically. i'm sure you would NOT appreciate me making you watch Citizen Kane two times IN A ROW, though.



anyways....Superhero Movie isn't all that bad, ya'll. it has a negative publicity stigma due to all the shitty other films in the canon, seriously. there are some truly great scenes (Tom Cruise, Human Torch, Green Hornet costume designing, for example), although i'll admit, there were a few stinkers (ahem, XAVIER, ahem).

part of the reason why this was so good, was the fact david zucker was involved with it, the master behind the classic spoofs like airplane and naked gun.

And it was great seeing robert hays and leslie nielson back on screen again.


the other great thing in it was miles fishers dead on tom cruise spoof.

yeah, blu, the tom cruise scene (especially the scene immediately after) is pure gold. on youtube there was a 3 minute version of the tom cruise interview, back when this was in theatres.

i agree, zucker did good, this is the best "movie" movie since scary movie 1.
