Default 'Tinker bell' - High-Def Digest Review

Peter's review of the direct to video 'Tinker Bell' has been posted. He was pleasantly surprised by the film's 5 star video and stellar audio. Supplements are enough to interest those 'Tinker Bell' aficionados. Worth a look.

I'm gonna pick it up when I can get it rather cheap. Just got done watching the DVD like 20mins ago.

A lot better than I thought it would be.

I have 2 boys. One is 2 1/2 and the other just turned 1. They really like Sleeping Beauty so the would probably like this. I am temped to get it just because I want another Disney Live title. I have a problem. LOL

I have to wait till next week now as The Final Countdown was pushed back. My 2 oldest daughters are very interested in this one and I can't wait to see how good it looks. My daughters have some of the newer looking Tinker Bell books. I'm not sure if this is tied in exactly with those or not.

Glad to know my money was well spent, my copy will be here from Amazon tomorrow.

Any reason for Disney not releasing the new Little Mermaid video on BD?

I've got it arriving today from Netflix (they shipped it a day early of the release), so I can check it out before thinking of buying it. (I was also trying to get Baraka from them but I am on a waiting list, which did read this morning, "Short Wait," but now reads "Very Long Wait.")

I'm sort of intrigued by this, as I love Disney films. Originally said pass, but when I heard that John Lassater dipped his hand into this, and it evidently came out far better than it originally was, I sort of want to see it now.

I thought The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning was supposed to be their last D2V release. I'm guessing I'm wrong, or did this somehow qualify differently?

Yes, please explain. It would make a great double feature next to Hannah Montana.

Peter my concern about dtv product is NOT so much it looking good but rather the plot. If your product is dtv and you're a big company like Disney that's usually code for the movie is crap and we want to get a few sales by sneaking it by the critics.
If this is true that the DTV product is going to stop then I must ask when is the next hand drawn film hitting theaters? Pixar people say they love hand drawn animation just as much so it's time they backed it up and brought said market back to life. After all if Disney gets a hit then Dreamworks and Warner Bros. will have at it again. I'd like another Batman TAS movie personally.

Are the target audience (girls of 3 to 10-ish) of this Tinkerbell really interested in watching this on Bluray rather than just DVD? it's good to give all a choice I guess, but does this really deserve a Bluray release over all of the other stuff not yet on Bluray. I don't wish to cause heated debate, or even to seem ignorant, but I can't see why this is that important for Bluray. Surely there are more deserving titles, rather than rolling out this sort of dross! oops, gonna upset someone!
