Blu-ray buy day:May 27th
I didn't participate in the last one for various reasons, but I'll pick up a few discs(POTC 1,2 and something else) on this day for shits and giggles.
The HD DVD team has a buy planned for the 28th so it should be interesting to see the sales spikes at amazon. The charts currently look like this:

Notice the spike from the HD DVD April 15th buy. In all honesty I wouldn't take these planned buys too seriously, but I see no harm in a showing of support for your format of choice for one day. Here's links to other forums participating in the buy.

-Mods, can we make this thread and the other thread in the HD DVD forum a temporary sticky? -

ugh, these stupid buy days are making me not want to talk on these boards anymore.
All it does is set up a small temporary boost, SOLELY so said format supporter can boast about it. It's all completely fabricated and under false pretenses.
And then we all argue and show off about how good the format is doing for that whole two days.
I won't be participating. I buy movies to enjoy them myself, not to artificially boost my format of choice.
Maybe I just wont' check out this boards from the 27th to the 30th.Blu-ray Discs Owned: 237

Sorry. Have it before May 22nd and I'll join. But I'm not waiting a week for my 4 movies just to provide a tiny percentage boost on Amazon.com, of all places.

Count me in
I always pre-order on amazon.com and get my stuff sent when it is released. However, there were titles I was not sure of buying as I already own them on DVD and was not sure if I really needed to replace them.
These titles include Aeon Flux, We Were Soldiers and Reservoir Dogs.
I have now slated them for purchase on 27 May in order to support this endeavor of the blu-ray community. I hope May 27 will be a huge success!Last edited by Konrad; 05-01-2007 at 07:31 PM.

Buying day didn't make any sense to me.
I watch the Format Wars at dvdempire and don't care about Amazon. -

I am not into the "buy day" thing. Looking at the graph at the top, I kind of like the Blu Ray steady increase line rather than the peak and valley one for HD DVD. I will indirectly participate by way of purchasing at least one extra BR disk this month that I was not sure about purchasing, on a day other than the 27th. It helps if you buy more disks than planned, not jamming your previously planned purchases into one day. I don't know. I guess I just don't get it. I think that for all the hype on the HD DVD buyathon, the subsequent nose dive makes the whole thing laughable for that format.
