Default 'For Your Eyes Only' - High-Def Digest Review

Peter's review of 'For Your Eyes Only' is up. He says this is a tougher, grittier Rober Moore Bond film (a bit of a series of reboot for its time) that still holds up well, despite some particularly dated music and gizmos. This Blu-ray is strong, with a sharp remaster, great audio, and some good extras. get out there and grab this one Bond fans!

This is my favorite of Roger Moore's Bond so I'll pick this up for sure. Also, the actress in this film is my favorite Bond girl.

Its funny how as you get older, your outlook on movies change. This one was one when I was little, I didn't like so much. Now, it is definitely one of my favorite Bond movies from my least favorite Bond actor. Can't wait to see this one on Blu-ray though.

I loved this movie as a kid.

It is truly classic 007. I will be picking this up as part of the set as most of my Bond is still on VHS.

Moore's best Bond-- Hands Down!!

After the debacle of MOONRAKER, this film was a necessary dive back to earth. Outside the stunt driving, the action was pretty good. A believable storyline for a change and Carole Bouquet!!!

The only thing that holds this film back is Bill Conti's HORRIBLE score!! It's so bad it's beyond words!! I would love it if they had Barry or even Arnold re-score it as this score actually detracts from the film.

I always liked Live and Let Die and I liked MoonRaker(of course i really liked all the shuttles since at the time the movie was out I was anticipating the first launch of the space Shuttle since I had been following the progress throughout the 70's)). Although I'm getting all the Bond lficks released this week.

Oh man, no way. Man with the Golden Gun and The Spy Who Loved Me were easily better than this flick!

I love it how people differ...

For me I can't deal with GOLDEN GUN cause the premises seems so silly of a hired hitman and both women were boring and the flying AMC was a bit too much for me.

I've always lumped SPY WHO LOVED ME and MOONRAKER together (Christopher Wood scripts) with one man wanting to live below the sea, the other in space. Very similar in that respect and both had Jaws.

The advantage of SPY WHO LOVED ME is the smokin' hot Barbara Bach!!

Me too, Bond seems to have a little bit of something for everybody with lots of people differing on what the best/worse films are and best/worse Bonds.

Personally I have always thought this was one of the worst Bond movies staring the second worst Bond (only Lazenby could do worse), It was just dull......but I havent watched it in years. I'll give this one a rental and see if my opinions have changed over time as other peoples have.

I can't stand the music in this one, it ruins it so much it's depressing.

I remember I hated For Your Eyes Only when I first saw it. back then I thought Moonraker was what a Bond film should be. There was so much less action and excitement, I thought it a boring movie. As I got older, I realized how bad Moonraker is and how much better a film For Your Eyes Only is.

tMwtGG wins simply off the Shirley Basey track. Her songs just ooze James Bond.
