Default 'Halloween' (2007) - High-Def Digest Review

Peter has reviewed Rob Zombie's remake of 'Halloween.' To say he hated it would be an understatement. Still, his half star rating for the movie itself has to square off against some very strong video and audio ratings, and he loved the supplements. Good disc, BAAAAAAAD Flick.

Might be unnecessary, but I love the movie.

Yes, horrid movie. Yet for some reason I want to watch it on Blu-Ray after reading the review.
Mainly for the audio/pq. (What else would be a reason? lol )

Hated the film, was embarrassed to bring my girlfriend to see it and she doesn't mind some horror films. Huge fan of the original and hate to say it, but they would have been better off just making a sequel to resurrection. If any Halloween should be remade its 3, while I don't hate it as a stand alone, not contiuing the Myers story was a dissapointment. Someone should remake 3 to tie 2 and 4 together.

Man, I can't believe such a mediocre/borderline awful remake got such a great treatment in regards to supplements and PQ/AQ

I completely agree with this review. Rob Zombie's Halloween was awful in every way imaginable. If they make another Halloween film, I can only hope that it's a sequel to Resurrection, which was equally horrible, but at least it didn't try to tarnish the original film's reputation. I thought I'd never hear myself say this, but give me Busta Rhymes over Rob Zombie any day. No, you know what? Just stop altogether. In my opinion, out of all 9 films - most, in which, are complete garbage - Halloween, Halloween II, and Halloween: H20 serve as a wonderful trilogy. Someone box those up for me and put 'em on Blu-ray and I'd be very happy.

Great Halloween remake! It makes the original look like a POS. I'll be picking this up on Blu for sure.

Someone forgot to turn on his sarcasm radar...

Anyway, you gotta understand the perspective from which this movie was made: a gore film lover's. Was it the right perspective to approach this film? Maybe not, but the less you try to see it as a suspense thriller, and the more you understand it is a gore shocker, the better you can approach this one.

Still, I thought it was a pointless POS. House of the 1000 corpses / Devil Rejects were much better, if going into Zombie's approaches to gore before.

I haven't seen this, but for some reason I adore House of 1000 Corpses and The Devils Rejects. Think I'd enjoy this?

I just checked this out on blu-ray after being told the director's cut was much better than the theatrical POS me and my friends couldn't help but laugh at. I couldn't agree more with the reviewers take on how over the top trailer trashy the back story is. In terms of the franchise...Id put this one below Halloween 3...yeah...I REALLY hated this movie. Put it does have good video!
