Default 'Romancing the Stone' - High-Def Digest Review

Peter has reviewed 'Romancing the Stone.' He says the film has grown a bit dated (especially the score), but it's still a fun adventure yarn. This Blu-ray features good video and audio, and a nice collection of supplements. Worth a look.

I'm glad the PQ is good. I'll definately have to pick this up, when it goes on sale.

i gladly paid 39.99 for this and jewel of the nile when they were first released as barebones dvds. the price i paid for these on bluray this week was 24.99 each a full 15 dollars cheaper apiece. well worth the money to own one of my favorite films growing up

Sounds like a decent, but not strong, transfer. I'll probably buy this used for $15 several months from now. It doesn't sound like it's worth the asking price new unless you absolutely love the movie. I only like the movie, so I'm not willing to pay through the nose for a merely decent video/poor audio disc of it.

On a side note, I agree with PB on "The Movie Itself" score? Wow, that's a first. We seem to have opposite tastes in everything.

The film looks pretty good after all these years on Blu-ray.

This was one of my favorites growing up as well.

Actually picked it up for free on a Kellogs cereal promo on DVD. Not sure if I'll upgrade this time but I might if the price is right.

Yeah, she has aged less gracefully than anyone I've ever seen.

I think she looks fine, and has aged fine. Her eating habits have clearly changed though, I thought it was Ms. Piggy for a second.

Her voice, IIRC, hasn't either. Yikes! Still, I love this flick - gotta be one of Danny DeVito's best.

FFS guys, Kathleen Turner has been diagnosed with Rhuematoid Arthritis for a decade and a half. The disease causes crippling pain and she takes steroids as part of the treatment. Add a little compassion in your comments please.
