Default 'Madagascar' - High-Def Digest Review

Kenneth's review of 'Madagascar' is posted. He says it's a decent family film, but no match for the magic of Pixar. This Blu-ray flaunts gorgeous video, technically sound audio, and some generous supplements. Worth a look.

Might have to get this one for the kids. Also, you gotta love a "kid's" movie where characters teach kids how to cuss without cussing. Penguins especially. "Hoover dam!" "Holy shiitake mushrooms!" Personally, I find that hilarious.

Of course, nothing can hold a candle to Chris rock getting the word shit out there in a disguised form.

The scene where Alex and Marty see each other on the beach, it's done in slo-mo, including the voices, Alex gets angrier and Marty says something. We put on the CC to make sure we heard it right and we did. Marty says, "Oh, Sugar Honey Ice Tea!"

I'm amazed that parent groups weren't all over this movie.

I almost bought it up at Moviestop, just the other day.

While I love the movie, I think I'll just stick with my DVD version for a while. I know there will be a collector's edition re-release along side of the BD/DVD release of Madagascar 2.

This was a fun movie. Watched it with my nephew and learned to hate the "move it" song as that was all he could say the rest of the night.

I love DreamWorks Animations and this one ranks up there for me. My kids have watched the DVD so many times, I think it probably wore out. LOL! It is a great transfer and worth the $20.

Totally agree with the review, ever so slightly better than complete mediocrity.

The penguins are funny but the main cast if totally forgetable. Actually suprised they decided to make a sequel. But then again, I guess everything can't be a Shrek.

The only parts I liked were the ones with The Penguins and the MONKEY THINGS! But Im sure it looks just as good as the reviewer stated.

I dig this movie, myself. I picked the Blu-ray up, last week, and it's definitely demo-worthy, PQ-wise. If you at all like the movie, it's a no-brainer to pick it up.

Picked up a used copy. One of my go to animated flicks.

Now Dreamworks get busy with Shrek 1 and 2.

I just watched this and was just curious...I looked up the review for this and shockingly didn't see a great extra. The disc had a long montage of all the Dreamworks Animation musical pieces. What was great about it was it showed every single one of their titles in HD and they all looked great.

Just watched this. AWESOME PQ!!!

Thought the aspect ratio is really 1.78 and not 1.85 as on the review. Disney has done this as well with some of the Pixar films on SD.
